You're a Listener and you don't get it...

When a radio station is for sale, everyone is on edge because everyone knows that their job could be on the line when the new owners take over.  Management will generally try to squash thoughts of "jumping ship" with the "No changes, just rumors, line".. they have to do this to keep people from bailing and finding a new job before the new owners can take over and have them executed.

Which brings to mind this.....

Question: How do you tell when the new owners of a radio station are lying?
Answer: Their lips are moving.

New owners always reassure the people at a radio property they have just acquired that there will be no drastic changes, everyone is "safe", no need to panic, no need to look for another job, Etc., Etc....

It's business, you have to say those things even if you plan on slaughtering everyone (down to their first born) who works for the newly acquired station.  It's just the way business works and the radio business in particular.  There WILL BE CHANGES, no matter what they say.  Anyone who feels otherwise is just in denial.  You just have to believe that change is a good thing and roll with the flow... and keep a low radar profile.... as in stealth.
